Pretty Lights
Pretty Lights
Pretty Lights is the musical vision of the ultra-versatile Colorado based producer Derek Vincent Smith. At a time when music lovers from almost all subcultures, and genres are finding common ground in the basic form of bangin' beats, Pretty Lights is giving the people what they want; electro organic cutting-edge party rocking beats that fill venues with energy and emotion, and send dance floors into frenzies. What makes Pretty Lights truly different is that these beats have serious soul. Derek's latest album, "Filling Up The City Skies" is a two disc, 26 track journey through past, present, and future. He juxtaposes collages of beautiful vintage samples against backdrops of futuristic synthesis and dirty broken beats, creating a sound that can snap your neck while simultaneously shedding your tears. The album has been downloaded over 40,000 times from the Pretty Lights website in the short 3 months since its release, proving that the PL sound is not only getting around, it's spreading like a virus.

Tipper
Tipper
Tipper (Dave Tipper) is a British producer and DJ specializing in nu skool breaks, electronica, and trip hop.

Although mostly known in the breakbeat scene, Tipper's output includes strong hints of electro amongst other styles. He is known for his interest in extreme bass frequencies, with his releases often including lengthy sub bass test tones at the end. He, and like-minded people from his label Fuel Records, have also engaged in stunts like emptying a swimming pool, covering it with an acoustic canopy and enjoying the bass, or drowning out The Prodigy on the main stage of the V Festival with their car sound systems parked several miles away.

Tipper also records under the pseudonym Crunch with Mike Wallis aka Psi Spy.

Chali 2NA
Chali 2NA
The Los Angeles, California baritone rapper best known as Chali 2NA has been referred to as the ambassador for Jurassic 5 - though he is well-known for being a member of J5, he has appeared alongside many artists and on a variety of albums and compilations.

He also was a founding member of Ozomatli, and though he is no longer an official part of the group, he has appeared on a number of their subsequent albums.

Prior to those two groups, he was a member of the group Unity Committee.
Krafty Kuts
Krafty Kuts
Internationally renowned breaks DJ/producer Krafty Kuts is the co-founder of the label Against the Grain and has a long list of albums, EPs, and remixes to his credit. Born Martin Reeves and based in Brighton, England, he began DJing at a young age, developing his turntablist skills during the mid- to late '80s. He later worked at a record shop in Brighton and began producing his own tracks. Reeves made his recording debut as Krafty Kuts in 1998 on the Ministry of Sound big beat offshoot label FSUK with the EP Funky Elements. Around this same time, his track "Gimme the Funk" had been championed by Fatboy Slim, who ultimately released it on his Southern Friend Records label in 1999. These initial productions drew attention to Reeves' talents as a DJ, and so he teamed up with fellow breaks DJ/producer Lloyd Seymour (aka Skool of Thought) to form the long-running club night Supercharged. He also released his first mix album, Slam the Breaks On (1999), via Lacerba, and it proved so successful that he released a second volume a year later.

In 2001 Reeves and Seymour furthered their partnership by founding the labels Against the Grain and Supercharged, the former of which was inaugurated with a pair of Krafty Kuts EPs (Lost Plates, Lock the Hype/Smash Your Breaks). Also in 2001, Reeves made his Finger Lickin' Records debut with another pair of EPs (Finger Lickin' Funk, Vol. 1, Dangerous). He later released the full-length album Tricka Technology (2003), a collaboration with A-Skillz, on Finger Lickin' Records. Meanwhile, he continued to showcase his talents as a DJ on mix albums including Fuzzy Breaks, Vol. 1 (2002) and These Are the Breaks (2003), and his live performances earned him a series of Best DJ awards (2004, 2005, 2006) courtesy of Breakspoll. Reeves continued his output in subsequent years, releasing the full-length Krafty Kuts album Freakshow (2006), which spawned the club smash "Bass Phenomenon." Plus, there were more mix albums, including entries in the long-running Fabriclive and Back to Mine series in 2007 and 2008, respectively. ~ Jason Birchmeier, Rovi
Marvel Years
Marvel Years
Cory Wythe, the producer and guitarist better known as Marvel Years, has found a welcome place for himself within the increasingly popular glitch-hop / electro-soul dance music scene. In just a short period of time, his progression has become outright impossible to ignore. Much more than your average DJ/producer, Marvel Years is an incredible guitarist that shreds well beyond his years. His approach to blending electronic beats and shredding soulful guitar on his original tracks and remixes creates a sound that is a unique hybrid of EDM combing glitch, retro-funk, classic rock, soul, jazz and hip-hop. "Classic rock has been a huge influence on me," Wythe explains. "I love breathing new life into those older songs. I think that's a good medium for bringing new listeners into my music because they can relate to that stuff. I improvise (on live guitar) over a lot of my stuff."
While Marvel Years continues to make a name for himself, it was inevitable that he caught the attention of other prominent artists in the scene. His very first-ever live performance supporting Pretty Lights in Boston, MA (July 2013) has only been followed with an impressive amount of success and opportunities. In August 2013 he made a surprise guest appearance performing two of his tracks along side Mikey Thunder at Pretty Lights sold out Red Rocks show. Later that year, he was invited to hit the road on a multi-week bus tour as support for GRiZ's Rebal Era Tour. Then, in the fall of 2013, Cory was offered an opportunity to do an official remix for Pretty Lights – "Where I'm Trying To Go" that was released on December 10 on 'A Color Map of the Sun Remixes'.

Spring 2014, Marvel Years embarked on his first ever national tour (along with fellow up-and-comers Krooked Drivers and Muzzy) playing smaller venues and clubs in fourteen new markets on the "Retro Electro Tour". Later that year he was invited to join The Floozies and Exmag on the "Back On It Tour". Additionally, he was added to an impressive number of events and festivals where he captured the attention of new listeners with his increasingly popular and fresh sound.

2015 continues to provide an incredible amount of opportunity for the constantly evolving artist. In January, he blew the audience away at the Best Buy Theater in New York City supporting another one of his biggest influences - Gramatik. His calendar stays full as he has been and is scheduled to play with artists such as Manic Focus, Break Science, and Exmag. Just recently, he performed a set supporting a near sold-out House of Blues Chicago show - in addition to performing as the guitarist for the debut of the headlining act, Manic Focus Live Band.

Marvel Years is a kid with a dream, the talent, and the drive to make big moves... and those paying attention are witnessing history. His releases, impossible not to love, are primed and ready to help you forget your troubles and drift you into a happier state of mind. Keep your eye on this fresh artist who has those smooth funky grooves on lock and become marveled yourself.

"Cory Wythe does not have a ceiling when it comes to the art of remixing, as he is known for taking natural classics and turning them into burning supernovae that no human can fight the urge to let go and dance their asses off." - The Untz
