HUSH on ICE - sliding thru the decades

Thu, December 21, 2017

8:00 pm

$10.00 - $29.00

HUSHconcerts brings back a beloved annual event, HUSH on ICE. Returning to the Embarcadero Ice RInk on Thursday December 21, 2017, we're sliding through the decades on three silent disco channels. DJ DAVE PAUL (the Prince & Michael Experience) will do the 80's, MOTION POTION will do the 70's and DJ MANCUB will play all the 90's party jams you love (and maybe some that you loathe). Two types of tickets are available now: some that include your rink fee and headphone rental, as well as a discount ticket for those who just want to come and dance. The event is ALL AGES and fun for the whole funky family.

PLEASE NOTE: These shows are RAIN OR SHINE and will only be canceled or rescheduled by direct request of the VENUE itself due to an extreme weather advisory (ie: Hurricane). There are no refunds or exchanges.

DJ Dave Paul (The Prince & Michael Experience)
DJ Dave Paul (The Prince & Michael Experience)
Prince and Michael Jackson fans celebrate on the dance floor as DJ Dave Paul mixes album cuts, b-sides, un-released tracks, remixes and hits from the two artists as well as songs by such ancillary acts as Sheila E., The Jackson 5, The Time and Janet Jackson.

Collectively, Prince and Michael Jackson helped define the early-'80s era of MTV, revolutionized both R&B and popular music, and influenced thousands of musicians worldwide. This party pays tribute to two of the greatest artists of our time. The experience is presented by DJ Dave Paul who has successfully produced over 280 of these events in over 30 cities (San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Las Vegas, Detroit, Chicago, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, New York etc.).

"For TWELVE years now, Dave Paul has hosted and DJ'ed at the brilliant 'Prince vs. Michael Jackson' parties. As selections of hits, rarities, and remixes from both artists are presented over the course of the evening, audience members square off in funky battle, holding signs bearing the mug of their favored entertainer to judge which one is the true king of pop. This sure ain't the place for cynics, but Darling Nikki's and Dirty Diana's are all welcome to participate." - SF WEEKLY
Motion Potion
Motion Potion
MoPo is a master craftsman and his building material is the world’s most precious commodity: TIME. Consider yourself fortunate If you get a chance catch a Motion Potion DJ set these days. An enormous amount of thought, planning, and scheming has to occur to make them happen. MoPo approaches his shows like a college professor, or a football coach, putting hours of preparation and thought into exactly who will be listening, and how exactly to reach into their souls. Every set is different, and each can unfold in hundreds of different ways, and this intense focus on preparation makes him so versatile, so intense, and so much damn fun. These are “DJ sets” in the classic sense, unfolding like poems with every song a word and every mix or drop a bit of punctuation. Once known as the “DJ for people who hate DJ’s” it would be more accurate to say that this is the DJ for those who love live music.
DJ Mancub
DJ Mancub
Chip “Mancub” Corwin has been voted as a top ten dj of San Francisco. He has been blowing up the block party jams for over ten years. Mancub has a very diffinitive style of turntable tricks that have earned him slots beside some of the dance industry’s biggest headliners. His turntable antics are too numerous to mention but include scratching while wearing boxing gloves, he certainly knows how to work the crowd into a frenzy!!You can hear his mixes on the internet radio station pulseradio.net, netamp.com or djmancub.com. The netamp show is aired on the last Wednesday of the month or archived. Mancub also plays for the infamous playa posse The Space Cowboys, ripping up a rare storm on the mighty Unimog at numerous unforgettable party’s. Mancub has recently joined Sleevin records and is supporting us in a big way
