February 9, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - February 10, 2013 @ 2:00 am PST

$18 – $60

Planet Booty is a force to be reckoned with. Having started as a genre-defying concept album by brothers Nathan and Dylan Germick that blends electropop, sci-fi synths, space funk and booty bass, the project has evolved into a live show of epic proportions. The 6-piece ensemble fuses electronics, drums, percussion, horns, marimba, guitars, and soulful singing (with a splash of choreography and theatrics) to create a hyper-charged and highly entertaining dance party experience.

Having quickly earned a reputation as one the Bay Area’s must see live acts, Planet Booty performs regularly at venues such as The Rickshaw Stop, Bottom of the Hill, Café du Nord, Red Devil Lounge, and Oakland’s Uptown. Their combination of high-caliber musicianship, adventurous arrangements, and good ol’ fashioned funk is guaranteed to raise a smile and get booties bouncing.Taking care of business worldwide and hailing from SF, J-Boogie is the man to call when the party needs that special sauce. Long recognized as one of the hardest working and most soulful DJs/producers in the Bay, J-Boogie takes his musical paths to the next level with his signature blend of dub, soul, hip-hop, dancehall, funk, latin, afrobeat and house, creating a spicy musical gumbo. This mix master always brings the flavor to the tables, so lean back, relax your mind and have a bite of some tasty treats.

Recording and performing with his band Dubtronic Science, J-Boogie brings the next dimension to his turntable sets by incorporating live musicians onstage including sitar, tablas, flute, sax, drums, percussion, and vocalsMotown on Mondays is San Francisco’s source for funk and soul for more than 2 years. He’s done pretty much every aspect of DJING from playing in weird other countries to celebrity weddings, barmitzvahs, and clubs of all different shapes and sizes.
