Crystal Castles
Crystal Castles
Fusing low-res electronic noise and pop hooks so effortlessly that it can seem accidental, Crystal Castles began as producer/multi-instrumentalist Ethan Kath's solo project in late 2003. Kath got the moniker from the name of She-Ra's dwelling in the He-Man and Masters of the Universe cartoon series; it's also the name of a 1983 Atari video game, which is oddly appropriate, considering that one component of the band's distinctive sound comes from a keyboard modified with an Atari 5200 sound chip. When Kath collaborated with singer Alice Glass on some songs in spring 2005, Crystal Castles' lineup was complete. One of the songs the pair recorded, "Alice Practice," was something of an accident: it was intended to be a demo of Glass testing out a microphone, but its presence on MySpace piqued record labels' interest. "Alice Practice" was released as a limited-edition 7" in summer 2006 on Merok Records, also home to Klaxons; its 500-copy run sold out in three days. The duo worked on their own songs and also honed their remixing skills, tweaking songs for Klaxons as well as GoodBooks, Uffie, Health, and Bloc Party. Tours with the Presets and Metric in 2007 set the stage for the release of Crystal Castles' self-titled debut album, which Last Gang released early in 2008. - Heather Phares, AllMusicGuide
Mistah Fab
Mistah Fab
Mistah F.A.B., the Prince of the Bay, first got national attention when he was featured on MTV2’s program My Block: The Bay Area. In this episode he introduced the Thizz movement along with other cultural Bay Area aspects. He is best known for his local hits “Super Sic Wit It” and “N.E.W. Oakland”. Mistah F.A.B. is currently signed to Thizz Entertainment, Mac Dre’s label. He released the much anticipated Son of A Pimp album on Thizz Ent. After Son of a Pimp, he released a DVD called “The Freestyle King”. The Freestyle King DVD included many of his freestyle battles, along with the most infamous battle with the Ruff Ryders Jin Au-Yeung. In early 2007, Mistah F.A.B. will release his much anticipated Yellow Bus Rydah album. Recently Mistah F.A.B. has signed a recording contract with Atlantic Records.[3]

"Their full-length debut, Lark Marvels, [is] packed with fuzzed-out trippy gems and surprising patches of indie-inspired melody. While Maus Haus have previously garnered comparisons to Silver Apples and Captain Beefheart, Lark Marvels reveals additional influences from Add N to (X), Kraftwerk, and Nuggets-era pop." --Flavorpill
Battlehooch
Battlehooch
All attendees will receive a free and exclusive cd with a live performance from the band's summer tour - this show only, and NOT for sale!

Battlehooch unabashedly walks the line between pop sensibility and avant garde experimentation, bending the chaotic into the melodic and evoking passionate responses in everyone that hears them. Battlehooch describes their sound as "shape-shifting orchestral rock," characterizing the band's tendency to write stylistically varied songs with unique arrangements, and their ability to adapt to any performance environment.

During the latter half of 2010, Battlehooch expanded their national audience with a 4-month American odyssey, playing in 40 different cities in 38 states. Video footage collected by each band member has been providing raw material for both an episodic tour documentary and the Desolation Video series of live off-the-grid performances in remote, iconic locations. Visit the Battlehooch YouTube channel to see the lads playing in unlikely venues ranging from an abandoned car factory to a southern swamp.

After 15,000 miles of road-testing new material, the band is now back at their headquarters in the foggy outskirts of San Francisco. They are currently engaged in their most ambitious recording project to date.
Con Brio
Con Brio
Driven by powerful vocals and soulful grooves, San Francisco’s Con Brio (“with vigor” or “spirit”) blends old-school grit with new-school sophistication for a sound that’s wholly their own. The addition of Benajmin Andrews’ barn-burning guitar playing and Zeik McCarter’s hair-raising vocals to the gritty, organ-driven soul of the long-standing original rhythm section (Jonathan Kirchner, Andrew Laubacher, Micah Dubreuil) will keep heads nodding and the dance floor moving until the very last note fades away. Their unique take on high-octane funk and deep-pocket grooves has left the band poised to launch into the stratosphere.
J Boogie
J Boogie
Justin "J-Boogie" Boland is a world-renowned DJ/producer from San Francisco. He is signed to Om Records and has blown up the festival circut at Coachella, Outside Lands.
Aaron Axelsen
Aaron Axelsen
Music Director/APD LIVE 105, San Francisco. Radio show host of SUBSONIC & SOUNDCHECK. Co-founder & resident DJ @ club POPSCENE SF.
